So are the powerhead 2 coming to an end?The pro is a redesigned blade for expansion at lower terminal velocities, with a redesign in profile to optimise BC to compliment.
Unsure on how much practical difference this offers, but I’m sure once they’re more widely available people will be able to report back.
The Powerhead 2 used a Barnes TTSX bullet, but Sako has superseded this and now uses their proprietary blade and blade pro bullets in that line.

The Pro is loaded for longer range ‘hunting’ so has improved BC but I’d be VERY surprised if the metallurgy of the bullet, ie how it expands, is any different to the standard bullet. The pro is a redesigned blade for expansion at lower terminal velocities, with a redesign in profile to optimise BC to compliment.

Good point well made, the internal design could have been tweaked. You may be right - they may have tweaked the design of the hollowpoint inside though to aide expansion.
I’m only going off articles and advertisement I’ve read about the Blade bullets as I don’t use factory loaded ammo!
