Sauer 202 Receiver Profile

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Sauer 202 shares a receiver profile with another rifle, enabling scope bases for that rifle to be used on the Sauer. Trouble is, I can't remember which "other" rifle it is. Anyone know?
I previously thought bit might have been the Remington 700, but that was wrong.

The 202 with an alloy receiver has machined in weaver bases making for lower cost mounting as you don't have to buy speacialist mounts as you do with the steel receiver.

Warne make weaver style bases for the Sauer 202 steel receiver. Please note that the rear base is thicker by 2-3mm than the front bases and so they are not interchangeable. Opens up lots of ring options once these are fitted.

You could do worse than ask Steve Beatty Ivythorn shooting, i think he is an official Sauer dealer, he has been really useful for me with scopes/ bases etc

The 202 alloy action i have here now is the same as the steel one, had one in the past that was the same as well.

This was an option, but never standard.

I don't think that the 202 shares the receiver profile with any other rifle.

Leupold do a Base for the 202 with quick release rings, i have used these for probably six years, you can remove the scope, replace it and its always within 1/2inch.
You can also get a weaver rail to fit the 202.

1/2 inch off is quite unnecessary. Modern designs will do much better, i.e. an EAW pivot mount.
And recommending a weaver rail is like praising a steam engine to be state of the art. Weaver is a non-standardized profile whereas a picatinny rail is a mil-spec as of 1995. However, neither of the two will make a Sauer 202 any prettier.

EAW work very well, but are expensive, too.
Warne cross slot bases or rail with their QR rings work well - have them on my Sauer 200 so I can use the iron sights.
So does the Leupold QR and QRW sets.
Talley makes a nice set of QR bases and rings.

I've got EAW Schwenkmontage on it at the moment. I'm looking to replace that set up with something more economically efficient (OK, Cheaper). In all the years I've owned the rifle, I think I've had the scope off probably about 5 times. Replacing it with Weaver and selling the EAW will give me some sheckles to go into the "Mauser Fund".

Hi
According to comparisons Ive just done on my ally actioned 202 I am fairly sure a pair of weaver number 46 or s46 bases (front base for a mauser 98) will fit, s46’s being the steel versions
