I understand your point on planned distances, and of course having the stock in the same place on one's cheek is basic stuff. However, while looking up 120 to 150 yards along the side of a forest firebreak to where the deer come across every morning, where does one see the deer? Answer is right opposite 25 yards away.Hi Alex.
From an engineering point of view you maybe correct. That doesn't mean the scope is faulty..
From a stalking point of view its a perfect scope.
The 8x56 are specifically designed as stalking scope, where most shots are taken ar 50 to 150yrds.
If I was woodland stalking, and came across a deer at 25 yards, I'd be delighted if I could run the following checks through my brain it time
Backstop?
ID season ok?
Shot placement, wound chanel ok?
Backstop ok?
Squeeze....

In my search, I found a 30mm S&B Klassic, fitted it to a .270 and will see how we go.
The one on this list that is left is a 25mm, and the price is good so sure it will sell soon.
