Yip they are ********. Ive just bought a leupold Almuina flip up eye piece cover for my leupold. Ive a clear butler creek on the lens and I feel its some what better than the rear flip type.

Finch, get a couple of zip ties and use them to fix the bikini covers to the scope body. with a bit of playing around you can get them to hang on the opposite side to the rifle bolt, I tried the putting them in the pocket routine, but have a habit of loosing them.
+ one on the butler creeks, not cheap and not good a p**s poor combination.

I got it from uttings they have most in stock, but beware if you want 1 they are threadedand the scope needs to be threaded to accept it. Mines isnt so Im £38 down, Ill call them and see what we can do.

It seems that Bushnell are aware of the issue and are in the process of rectifying it. No indication as to when this will happen though.
In the meantime I suggest you take any broken scope covers back to where they were bought from and ask for a refund due to them not being fit for purpose.
It also seems that they have brought out a new line of tactical scope covers which have a much better hinge design but these are limited in only a handful of sizes at the moment.

The neoprene covers are the best in my opinion,really easy to just slip off quitely and shove in your pocket quick,saw some quite cheap somewhere but can't remember where,might have been fleabay,might of been Jack Pike not sure.
Good luck I hope you can find out what is wrong with current BC's and then post it.
I have fitted a pair of Bushwackers to my Meopta and am pleased with them. Yellow see through so have some advantages over BC's.
I think the concencus is that all current stock of BC's are to be avoid at all costs, not fit for purpose.

I'm also really fed up with snapping ££ Butler Creeks. On my .308 I used to use bikini's with electrician's tape around the strap but can't find good rubber ones recently - only hard plastic jobs with snappy elastic that are too noisy.
On the .243 I use the exit cap of one lense of my Swaro 10x40 binos on the exit of my S&B 6x42 scope - although it keeps the rain off the lense it doesn't stop fogging as well as Butler Creeks (I also need to get some RainX I think!)
I am about to swap the 6x42 for an 8x56 Zeiss I have bought off here (as I now use it for hinds) so would be interested to see what people go for/recommend/if BC can strengthen their product.
