For some years, I've used a Speras torch. So far, I've found nothing to beat it.

What's the distance of the beam like? And battery time please

A beam further than you want to shoot. 600yrds plus on a good night. I shoot foxes and the lamp is on for about 3seconds at a time just for the shot so I charge the battery every 3 to 6 months. It runs on an 18650 battery and is easy to swap. Never ran it out to be honest.

A mate of mine wants a scope mounted torch with a red beam, any suggestions as to what technologies LED, Laser or other? Small compact, a dimmer would be nice.

Recently purchased a Fenix TK30R LEP torch. Probably overpriced, but very well made and does the busines.

I bought a vastlite versa bow LEP torch recently.
I was only out once with it so far but I did shoot 2 foxes.
It's small and compact with an amazing beam for its size.

This is a good magnetic barrel mount.
Bits of thin plastic or coke can needed in strategic places where the torch clamps in, to get the beam exactly where you want it.
Stays on 222 and 20 gauge under recoil.
Olight is the make.
Under barrel or side of barrel.

I have an Acebeam W10 Pro with similar performance, less than 200£. Might be same quality, might not but I would suspect all the internal components come from the same Chinese factory.

Always found the nightmaster a decent torch.
I have never used a olight but they seem to have good feedback

Wicked lights fan here…. Like the switch to toggle between white green and red beams.

I was given one of these for Christmas and have been amazed at the power output, tight beam focus facility and cost of the thing. I have many torches that cost more than I care to recall but at c£30 this leaves them all in the dark:

The only downside is the weight and tube diameter at an unhelpful 33mm.
