Just back in with two cars worth of 'soggy'!
It is a crying shame, but really was on the cards most of yesterday. Many trade stands were just mud and a good few had inches of standing water. The main walkways were turning to jelly - despite hundreds of tons of gravel put out. They's been working at it for weeks and were topping off into Thursday night. We weren't too badly placed, but torrent from about 7.30 last night really sealed things.
At the back of the traders many vans were sinking - albeit fair staff were offering mats and boards, many traders had ploughed straight in.
Really felt for the guys selling clothing etc - I would imagine a great deal of value has been wiped off a lot of stock. Just one of those things generally - last years we were moaning it was just too hot!
Nice to see a lot of you on the Friday. Apologies if a bit distant at times - got a bit hectic and fighting trench foot, lickey end and jungle rot all at the same time.
Off to start drying stuff out now!
