We need to get this one done and dusted first then we shall have to look into it.

COME ON FELLAS

I cant be the only one chomping at the bit :-D :-D :-D

Hoping its a bit like Le Mans ;) before leaving you can book your place for the following year...

Mr greedy

can't wait to get up there :-D but i hope next year it will only be for people how needs the help (DSC1,DSC2, and newbie to stalking thanks again amin :-D :-D .

The intention is to provide, for SD members, of all capabilities the opportunity to gain a little knowledge and experience in deer stalking. Although it all started primarily to provide a service for those wishing to get witnessed stalks for their level 2, it seemed natural to extend the offer to all members who are either looking for witnessed stalks for their level 2 or training for it, have their level 1 and are looking for more experience and perhaps instruction, and for complete novices who are just looking for experience, and maybe their first stalk.
Our intention is that during October of this year we plan to offer a three day course / opportunity / experience call it what you will for site members. The three days will mean different things to different people, there will be a target range set up where people can zero their weapons, and prove to us that they can hit what they aim at. For those looking for witnessed stalks there will be the opportunity for this both with a CW and AW, for those just wanting to be accompanied on a stalk to gain experience, there will be an opportunity for this. Like wise those wishing to receive training prior to an assessment stalk this will also be available, and of course larder work.
The stalking will take place either on Malcolm’s large lease where there will be the opportunity for both Red and Sika, this will include hill stalking. There will also be the small SD lease available which is forestry and should provide access to Roe and Sika.
Accommodation will be two premises on the large lease. There will be room for eight people per three day course, which means a full house could see sixteen people present during the week. The exact
It will be on a first come first served basis, so those interested should pm me, together with what it is they are looking for. There will a deposit from each person of £10 just to ensure that there are no time wasters.
The final cost has yet to be calculated, but it will not be profit making, it will just cover the cost of the property rentals and the various witnesses expenses. Carcases will be priced at the going rate.
This is the offer the rest is up to you.

well guys this time next week i will have finished work and thinking about starting to get things together :-D ,i had a broken voice message on my mobile today off malc, they have had a great first week and seen lots of deer :-D :-D .looking forward to meeting you all,i just hope you are ready for fester

The weather has been kind this week and quite dry, well for here anyway. The temp is dropping daily and it should be seasonably brisk by the time you gents arrive. Last Sunday there were Stags, red and Sika visible on the little hill back of where you will be staying, this hill is affectionately known as heartbreak ridge

See you soon

John

I think you mean 'heart-attack ridge', if my last experience of following a ultra-fit Highland keeper up a near vertical hill was anything to go by - it's a good job we didn't see a shootable stag because I'd have been incapable of shooting it

Adam.

Don`t get too worried about Heartbreak ridge, it`s not that bad. :???:

I went up it 3 or 4 times last year, 2 times with Legaleagle and Fran, although Legaleagle struggled, Fran his girlfriend went up no problems

I`ll be going back up this year at some point i would think and would be more than happy to take some along with me to drag my deer back down, i mean, lets be fair Smithy did it for me last year so i think it only fair for someone else to do it this year. ;) .
As for chomping at the bit, i can`t wait, especially to meet up with you all. ;) .

wadas

Good Luck everyone, it sounds like a right riot and that's before everyone gets there.

Hope the weather hold out and everone has their scope picture full.

All the Best

TJ

Malc has just left, called in for a cuppa a chat. Would appear to be plenty of Sika on the move on his ground, not to mention a big red stag that run into a bullet last week.

John

i hope you have got plenty of tea bags in john, wadas will have a thirst on when we get up into your part of the world, malc phoned me this afternoon and said there are plenty about,so i spoke to fester and told him to get on some body building steroids due to all the dragging he will have to do for us all   .

I spoke to Wadas the other day and he is getting quite excited now, so much so that he had to have extra sugar in his tea! I did not tell him that there was the distinctive smell of cinnamon buns baking the other day, it would have been too much for him.

Only a matter of days now.

John
