I keep meaning to advertise some of these but I rarely shoot outside of late autumn through early spring and then it suddenly dawned on me that the rut is nearly here. Better late than never.
Made out of bone dry seasoned hazel with a little squeaker in. Edges rounded off. No moving parts, no adjustment, very hard to break and no real learning curve. Just small suction intakes of breath will give a roe kid peep noise. Blowing will give a lower tone but it is the roe kid noise I mostly use to hold moving muntjac in their tracks so i can shoot them. Increase or decrease suction strength/duration for louder or longer calls.
Will put a couple of vids below so you can see how i use them and how easy it is to get a sound out of it. Can also be held in your teeth and used totally hands free as you can see in the video of me shooting muntjac.
