Seeland Buckthorne Gaiters

well my old gaiters have finally died and just had delivered a pair of the seeland buckrhorne gaiter ready for winter.

I’ve just waxed my boots and thought I would slip them on for a look, well made, reasonably heavy duty at the moment look a good bit of kit.

But only time will tell, on face value they look a bloody good bit of kit, I’ll do a full review in thespian once I’ve beat the living hell out of them 👌

Ease of use is key to me so I can get them on quickly. I don’t know what the solution is but I would be keen to hear your views.

Bought a pair in July for this season, I am delighted with them. Very hard wearing, keeping out any brambles and gorse, very breathable, waterproof and silent. However, as I was taking my them off the other evening after a stalk the button on the bottom of the gator has come off.

That might be why they now supply with a spare popper, they will certainly get a good hiding from me

Decathlon Solognac for me, the more expensive of their two models at somewhere between the £30-40mark, going into their 4th season of some serious bramble bashing. And they’re a better fit than the cheap n cheerful stuff from John Norris

Showing as out of stock at the moment but worth keeping an eye out for🫤

Seeland Gaiters are utterly useless. Mine have finally died after about 15 years of hard mountain / heather / clearfell type use. The only the pull bit on the zipper of one has broken, so the velcro has to hold them closed, or need the pliers on my leatherman to do that one up. I suspect it will be another few years before they are completely buggered. Don’t make them like they used to. :)

They won’t last. My first pair years ago were half decent and got a few seasons out them. Replaced with the same recently and quality is comparatively shocking. Zip cover panel ripped off both within a few weeks, rubber strap soon followed.

I've had a set of them 7 years and they're still going. Perform great on Wicklow hill stalking. 100% will buy again when these give up.

Sorry what?

They're "useless" but you got 15 years out of them?
