Hello, my 11 year old working cocker has developed a sensitive stomach as he gets older, he incredibly active for his age , just looking for some recommendations for good quality dry food for a older working dog , I would like to feed him smaller amounts of good quality food, he’s never carried any weight as he to active,
Thanks for any recommendations

Wife uses this on her patterdale terrier with good effect, they also do tinned meat. Not cheap but does work

He was on csj champion adult for about 7years and has been on chappie for about 4 years ( both dry food ), done well on both, but on both if I tried to give him a little extra to keep weight on it would just go straight through him ,

Before the last lad died he was on it for 3 years, good food for an active dog with a sensitive digestive system.

I ended up on Harrington’s senior for my cocker with some bits of boiled chicken breast.
Her last couple of years she was very sensitive and couldn’t handle the change of food or larger amounts

i used to use harrigton but in the last six months the quality has really dropped off. mouldy food pouches and more juice than meat ,moved on from them...

I've just gone through that with my old Cocker bitch. Put her on Harringtons Salmon and Potato dry and she's back to regular dry poops.

Arden Grange senior dry food, I fed my old Cocker and patterdale on it, my 8 1/2 year old is still on Arden Grange working and working her socks off.

I used this for my older boy and was really good too .
And still feed the others other types from same company.
They also use dpd which gives you the one hr time slot and will leave in a safe place ie garage if your not it

cooked pheasant breast

thanks everyone for your replies, very much appreciated, from me and the now not so squitty dog

Bearing in mind the age , i suggest if you have not already ? Get the vet to investigate before you start messing with new foods ( just to be on the safe side )
Plain boiled white rice shouln't upset any dogs guts in the meanwhile!

One of our previous labs had a sensitive stomach (not necessarily the oxymoron it sounds), and we put him on Arden Grange as well, which he then seemed to thrive on.

For her last year or so, our cocker was on Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Low Fat Adult Wet Dog Food, but that was because she really struggled to keep anything else down.
