Shaking moderators before fitting

this has probably been covered before and people probably do it anyway!
got up this morning to go stalking grabbed gun then picked up the can to fit it to gun and as i went to put it on heard something rattle anyway shook the can and it rattled?? so stripped it down and found a seed of some sort in it ?? it must have got in from previous days stalking! this, if it had gone down the barrel without me noticing and a shot taken could have really ruined my day! so just a reminder/word of warning check your can before fitting and from now on i think a little rubber friend will be going over the can whilst out!

When out stalking I always put a small piece of black electrical tape over the exit hole of my moderator stops any cr*p or rain getting in there.

Yep my mate who is in the forces puts a Jonny on the end of his rifle certainly does the job by the sound of it.......

i used the NBC Rubber glove fingers for muzzel protectors when i was in, and still use the electrical tape on mod its gone before bullet gets there
:tiphat:

be no problems but would hate to put you wrong

Very interesting indeed ill have to give it a go thanks :thumb:

Good tip.
Also stating the obvious but it pays to check the can is tightly screwed on . Seen numerous wayward shots due to stalkers not checking this.
