ShootCert praise.

Hi.
My Dr Surgery decided they no will no longer work with any type of Firearms licensing and i would need a third party. Fair enough, the choice is theirs after all. I contacted BASC who recommended Shootcert.

I did the Shootcert paperwork and the request was sent to my GP same day.

My GP dragged their heels a little, but eventually sent ShootCert my records. Shootcert notified me of their receiving them, and i had a PDF in 24hrs and i received my hard copy in the post in 48 hours.

Pretty faultless service. I would heartily recommend them.

Glad you had a positive experience with ShootCert. A couple of years ago I used MedCert after my GP “for safety and work pressure” were unable to fill in any medical declaration. Gloucestershire Local Medical Committee seem to drive this lack of support. However the pace and service provided by Medcert was far from satisfactory, 16 weeks in the end.
Think I’ll give ShootCert a try in a few years. Bonus with BASC member discount too

@Yorkie glad all went well for you. For others reading this, particularly BASC members, click the link below for more information:

Firearms medical certificates with ShootCert

Meanwhile, mandatory involvement of GPs and a review of the length of a certificate are amongst many issues yet to be resolved:

My Surgery also refuse to deal with firearms certification at all. I ordered by records then forwarded them, thankfully, to a doctor friend who signed at the last safe moment to get my renewal in. What a 'mare.

I used Shootcert last year and found them great. My doctors surgery refuse to fill in the forms and I had been planning to use Medcert but was put off with reports of long delays. Shootcert were excellent. To be fair to the doctors they gave them records in 24 hours and 24 hours later Shootcert had turned it around. Really can't fault them at all, easy process and very efficient.
