There's an argument to be had there that the .357 has plenty of energy at closer ranges but bleeds it off more quickly being a less aerodynamic bullet, hence it's safer in certain circumstances!.38/.357 would be fantastic for field use which is why I enquired about it. Whether or not there's any merit to the response I received, it appears someone working for the licencing authority disagrees. .223 carries a lot more energy for a considerably longer distance which makes it more versatile, but there's definitely a gap that could be filled with .38/.357.
