Shooting show another possible gaff.

Ive just watched the shooting show video of 8th june with Gerwyn Jones decoying Wood pigeons.
Hes set up to be able to shot 360 degrees and has his decoys out in front and seat positioned to look eyes front.
On several occasions he shoots directly at the farm yard albeit maybe not all shot would reach the buildings.
The CPSA the governing body for clay shooting suggest the safe distance is 300 yds.
In my opinion the distance is way below 300 yds.
I know an average guy at 1.7 high shooting horizontal standing the shot will only reach approximately 75 mtrs but he changes elevation a few times.
Whether or not the shot goes the distance I think hes not considered the safety side.
I may be wrong but I thinks its another gaff by TSS.
Opinions please.
I enjoyed the video except for this.
Hes a heck of a shot, ive seen him at high bird shoots and hes up there with the best.
I hasten to add im not a P.Carr fan or C.Dalton fan.
I live about 40 miles from C.D. and know half a dozen peop[le hes upset by pinching permissions with the chque book.

I've seen the same episode, I think that it might be an effect of the camera making it appear closer. Camera often makes open distance with few reference points (pea field in this case) seem quite 'flat' and thus closer.

Having watched it I would say it is easily over 300 yards to the farm buildings. But that's just me. It would be interesting to see a birds eye view so it could be measured

I rather doubt that any experienced shooter would drop shot into a farmyard where clearly he knows the farmer, a rather swift way of getting kicked off I would think!

I used to zero at an informal range, where the firing position had a wriggly-tin roof. Nearby was an equally informal clayshoot. I became rather habituated to the sound of number-8 Blue Diamond raining down on the roof as I conducted my load-development. Disconcerting at first, but oddly relaxing after a while...

I remember taking part in a field target competition at the Test Valley clay shooting ground. it's on the flight path from Popham airfield and seeing how low some of the aircraft were I couldn't help wondering if they occasionally got peppered during a clay shoot.

Google the ShootingShow 8th june.
You dont need to watch the video to judge. The still shot of him shooting shows the buildings.
Im still of the opinion its not a safe distance.
Very few of us can accurately judge distance hence rangefinders.

I'd rather take him on his word than assume otherwise. The keeper had put him there so I'm sure it was all done properly.

Sorry Jason, that is rubbish what about the other gaffs loading the C/F with the safety fwd then closing the bolt with it up in the air not so long ago...You can't promote a shooting org then make mistakes like that...

Yes there have been other definite mistakes shown but they are seperate issues with different individuals. In this case I know the accused gentleman well so when I saw the question posted here I asked him and he gave me an answer which I duly posted. If you want to tar him with the "everyone on the shooting show is dangerous" brush then that's up to you but I fail to see how you can dismiss my comment as rubbish without knowing facts.
