Back way back when a youth, I couldn't afford to buy a full box of 25 Eley, had to buy those or the 'Sellior and Bellot' ones. Made one very careful when shooting, no long range or iffy shots.
Lol my experience of those baikal cartridges was they had shot of various sizes in them, we pulled the wads on some back in the day, everything from 7s to bbs in some of them and others with shot that had got damp and glued to each other
I used to be provided with them for vermin control i have seen remarkable results whilst using them , pigeons exploding and rabbits with 12 g sized holes through them . Crows at dusk was huge entertainment a yard of orange flame and bits of glowing wadding , not the shell of choice for stubble shooting
Different cartridges can be fun - Some kind gentleman loaded me some black powder ones for choosing pegs - most were normal - a few were loaded with confetti
Shot my highest best ever Pheasant last season with a 30+ year old Winchester Superspeed 4 shot 1 1/4 load (knew they would be high if anything was coming out of hill top wood).
If dry and clean last very well.
Hymax in 3s and 1s were my go to ammo for basil brush in the 80s too , same load as alphamax but 1/2 the price , then gamebore came out with a ounce and a half mini magnum that was 900kg proofed , think i still have a few some where too
I finished off some ancient Eley Grand Prix #6 the other week. They belonged to a late friend who used to walk a great deal & shoot very little & had plainly spent a lot of time in his pockets, as the brass plate on the bases was completely worn off.
All went bang & terminal effect was as expected.
