Should we just have one big shooting show?

Scrap the show this weekend, the Stalking Show, the target shooting show, Northern shooting show…..get rid of them all. Have one big show in `Manchester or Brum covering everything and make sure every manufacturer and distributor is there Along with Police Forces, the relevant people from the Home Office etc.

Thoughts?

And have just one show full of tat and crap instead of loads of them. Sounds good to me. I include the Home Office in that category as well.

As a trader at numerous shooting fairs including the CLA, the bigger they get the more they charge, burger vans selling the cheapest of the cheap just to pay the the exhorbitant stand fees. Last CLA we did was £600 per meter frontage, albeit a few years ago now and I would suggest that price has increased just like everthing else.. The Galloway game fair started with just local traders, but once it got established the big traders just took over..So for me the smaller the better.

Knowing the field sports industry- I doubt that will ever happen.

Each and every one of them organisations like you to enter with wallet brimming and card balance replenished.

I think 20ft frontage at Harrogate cost £3000 last year. I really like the Harrogate show, it's just big enough and usually has a good mix of stands. The last time I was at the NEC, there were quite a few larger stands that were importers/distributors who weren't actually selling to the public on the day - what's the point, its like look at what you could have had!
I think if you had one nation's show it would end up too big and too expensive.

Unfortunately most of the smaller local shows just turned into a travelling version of the same thing (same organiser, same traders, same sh1t different day...)
I think that particular organiser then went bust? Probably when people realised what had happened and stopped going!

I never these days as it just seemed to be the same two people walking around with overweight labs and the couple with matching long wax cotton coats and leather hats, also food prices are x3 like all these events...

Why?
What would be the benefits?

The last show I bothered with was the East Midlands game fair.. It was overrun with the traveling community and stalls full of tat. I drove a Defender there from Norfolk.. the back is still not quite right 8 years later 🤣

I just don't understand your post. You clearly don't have much of an understanding of business. I assume that you must work for the government is some way or form? Doesn't every business want you to spend as much money as possible? It's how they keep afloat and pay their employees!
