Prompted by a PM about this knife I thought it would be interesting to see what you use for rabbits and squirrels. The only rule is no Opinels please!

Oh Christ no my opinel can’t compete with that , I did but a rather nice paddy Smyth knife a while ago I’ll find it out lovely bit of kit not very ornate but practical ..... it’s a deer knife though so I don’t want to take it off topic ?

I’ve (finally) grown out of buying them but I’ve still got a drawer full of interesting knives that never get used now....including these Pat Mitchell’s complete with their original Stencraft Leather sheaths and another Boye dendritic ...



The bottom one must be early?

I’ve no idea how much these would be worth now.

Spec as follows:
Overall length - 6.5"
Blade length - 3"
The all-important blade width at widest point

Blade thickness at bolster- 1.160"
Full tang blade material - Damascus
Scales - quince wood
Bolster - silver

The sheaf was rubbish so I made one from leather scraps and included the barely legible Herbertz logo from the one I binned.

Called a Gerber Vital. Blades are £20 for a dozen.

Skinned a muntie with it once. Must admit its too flexible for that job.
