Show your double rifle

Hi ade8mm, at the moment i am loading 196gn hornady over 42gn of n140 with a fedral 210 primer, i am getting 1.5 inch groups at 100yds with each barrel and three inches between groups, i would like to try a lighter bullet but not easy to come by, cheers Geoff

it came to me in 20G but it is away at the moment being reworked back to 9x57 Mauser

it's been in a few experts hands but nothing conclusive, I was told it was a capture rifle from the first world war where the villagers were told to lay their rifles out in the street only for a gun carriage to be pulled over them, this one obviously made it out of Germany some how
in a 20g it was great but I wanted a double rifle so I went this way, finding the right smith was the hard bit. I'll get there and can't wait for the Thames valley question of good reason...

Geoffrey I don't know if you have seen this very useful reloading data that ejg kindly posted previously some time ago. http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co....8x57-Anybody-shoot-it/page2?highlight=8x57jrs Look at the pages towards the end of the posting rather than the data referring to the rimmed round and the older .318" cartridges.

I managed to pick up a box of Hornady 170 grn bullets some time ago and they seemed to shoot quite well through my 8x57irs, well certainly well enough to put a large fallow doe on the ground with minimum meat damage.
