Sightron or Vortex?

Yip,

Icing on the cake for me was when I saw a fox, with my naked eyes, bout 120yds away, standing in a freshly cut silage field. Put eye down on scope and could not make it out at all! This was about half hour before dark.
I presume that particular scope went back to who you purchased it from?

Sounds like the cardboard inner of a roll of toilet tissue would have done a better job.

I couldn't be happier with the two S-Tac's I have.

It did. I actually bought it to use with a pard, and sit on top of my foxing rifle. But after my experience, it was back to the drawing board!

Mag range I use for 1000 yds tends to be between 17x and 25x, depending on optics.

For Vortex money, I prefer the Bushnell Tactical Elite (Mil hash ret and turrets). Mine is sat on a zero moa rail and has more than enough adjustment to reach out to 1000 yds. For the money, I prefer the glass to the Vortex or the Sightron (tried both). Getting hard to find though. Have one on my 308 and it's been a rock solid and dependable scope. The other one I've been impressed with in the same sort of price bracket was the Delta Stryker.

You could look at the used market as well though as that's where the bargains will be. A decent Nightforce NSX can be had under £1000
