Sika antlers

I live in an area where Sika and Fallow live together in mixed herds. I just looked out the window and there is a Sika stag with one normal Sika antler and one flat fallow antler. This is the first I’ve seen in 25 years of stalking. I think I need to cull him before he wanders off.

Post a photo if you get him!

Am going to hazard a guess it's a Sika with an injury and one side has palmated because of injury.
I would be very interested to see this.

As mentioned likely that he has an injury that has caused it - either to the body on opposite side to the deformity or to the pedicle on the same side.

Sika antlers do, at times tend to go somewhat 'fluted' - usually with age but obviously that's both sides.

Also be interested to see the picture and learn the cause. Although, of course they tend to break their antlers more than other species I have seen very few sika deformities over the years.
