Socks that don’t fall down

My socks keep falling down. A minor but very irritating problem! The only pair that seem to stay up are the browning trek socks but they’re no longer made. Can anyone recommend some that will grip my slimline (skinny) calves and not end up scrunched into the toe of my wellies?!

Thanks
Mike
Hi Mike, I use electricians black insulation tape, wrap around once just above the ankle bone and not tight. Socks never come down, tape is easy to remove and a roll will last a long time. The tape doesn’t allow the sock above the ankle to move down. Stop shaving your legs if you think that will help, I’ve never tried it but some of the other guys here have more experience in that area than me. 😊

The old wellie problem. My mom solved it for me at the age of 6 (me, not my mom).

Bama sokkets

You wear them over your normal socks and they do two things for you. They take up the friction at the heel which normally pulls your socks down and they soak up the inevitable moisture in wellies, so your feet stay dry and warm. I wear them summer and winter.

I find the shooting socks from Decathlon to be as good as any I have had for staying up
Agreed, I like them a lot, although they are now much thinner compared to the ones I bought a year ago.

The white army artic socks are good as well.

I have the same issue as the OP

I only wear one brand of socks now and they are called Darn Tough.
They do all types of socks and are guaranteed for life, so if they ever wear out, or get damaged, they will replace them free of charge.
They do lightweight, mid weight and thick ones, I have over the clad ones for the wellies and above ankle for normal day to day.
A bit pricey but as said, they will either last a lifetime if they get replaced for free.

I wear bama sockets inside wellies socks last longer and your feet are dry as the moisture is wicked to the outer layer

Cracked it - seeland moor socks, 3 pairs in a pack for £9.99. I’m a 43 but got the 39-42 size and they’re great, no slippage at all - well done seeland!
