Escapee Pink Salmon have been a bit of a problem up here in the peoples republic of Alba for a few years. Initially thought to be linked to the fake Salmon industry and apparently have migrated from the Northern outposts of Russia to reach a few of our rivers. They are on a kill on sight list due to possibility of interfering with the genetic integrity of our wild (red listed) Atlantic Salmon.......not that the fake salmon industry give a flying stuff about that. There have been a couple of reports of juvenile Pink Salmon, so the problem may already be more worrying than first thought!

As an aside, a local hotel has wild Scottish Salmon on its menu!

I thought numbers were that low it had the industry had stopped?

I personally if read that on menu I would ask the manager owner where it's sourced from...
We had couple pink salmon appear in north esk here ..... haven't heard of any lately bit if I mind correctly are they not on a 2yr cycle or something ?
