Son's First Buck pt 2

We've boiled the head out because he would like to mount his First Roe Buck skull and looking at the size i wasn't sure whether it would make a lower medal class i've left the full skull and removed just the bottom jaw and it weighs 587 gramms. Will this be worth a professional measure? Thanks

It may just scrape in worth a try. Take it to a trade stand and have it checked out.

Yes, you really should scrape what you can off and peroxide it - I've used 12% peroxide cream for all my heads in the last 3 years and prefer it to the liquid/cotton wool method.

It will probably lose a good 10-15% weight after 30 days but if it weighs 450g plus by that stage, it is worth a measure.
