There is method in my madness. I am staying between Gatehouse and Creetown that week, so I shall be but 40 minutes away. For the rest of the week, I plan to annoy my pal RW (Grumpy on here) who lives near CD, and do some prospecting for a building plot, a critical element in the 'escape from England' grand plan. The meeting will be a pleasant and informative interlude.

Will be good to meet you Frank, along with anyone else you care to bring along. All are welcome; even those without a Dumfries & Galloway passport.

calmac has agreed to allow me a pass on the back of his. he says it costs two bottles of brown ale at the border !!!! cheap at half the price

Ha a man of my own heart, I did my escape 4 years ago, great place to live if you are into stalking but finding good paying work is not so easy.

Look forward to meeting you,

Kev

Redneck -

Not that I wish you no work, but it would be good to meet you!

Quite a few of our local (and not so local) colleagues from across the region also coming, as you can see above, so it should be a great opportunity to swap stories and make new contacts.

(ps coming from hamilton in a gas guzzling landy)

Bottle of Scotch for longest distance to meeting

Teilky -

Top man yourself. Will look forward to meeting you.

I am going to award a bottle of Scotch, at my own expense, to the attendee who has driven the furthest distance to be there on the night. Will have to get the assembled multitude to adjudicate since my geographical knowledge of SW Scotland is poor to middling...so plenty of opportunity for cheating.;)

Update...update...update...update...update...updat e...update...update

Folks -

Have just spoken with Dennis Groom to finalise details, and he confirms that he is planning to bring with him on the 21st:

An example of every moderator that Jackson Rifles imports - attendees will be able to compare and contrast at their leisure.

One or two custom rifle projects - whatever he has that's at or near the final stage at the time.

Two Remington actions - one standard, one blueprinted and wearing a Jewell trigger - so people can see and try for themselves what all the effort and expense is about.

So...plenty of rifle porn to add additional interest to the evening. :D
