Spanish brandy.

looks a fine one to be sure. Not tried it, but have had a cheaper diplomatic previously The Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva, which was lovely. Had to resist this yesterday in Costco as a birthday treat, (they had it for £47). Not tried it before , have you? Some mixed reviews online put me off initially, but this thread has got me rethinking 😫 Ron Zacapa Centenario Sistema Solera 23 Rum : The Whisky Exchange

sorry for hijacking this thread, not a brandy obviously.
Certainly some great reviews, I shall put that on my list but unfortunately my birthday has just gone so shall have to wait for Santa.
The trouble I have though is that I also like a nice vintage Port and I am also rather into my Absinthe, a hobby only slightly less expensive than being a shooting man.

If you like Spanish brandy then try Lapanto.
Made in Jerez by Gonzales Bias. Very smooth but can be a bit expensive.
Pop over the border and the Portuguese do some good offerings. Constantino and Maciera are my favourite.
All much cheaper than congnac.

I’ve had the Lepanto, very good indeed, so too was the Gran Duque D’Alba.

I was in Seville some years ago and by late morning it became unbearably hot so we jumped on a train to Jerez and went on the tour around the Gonzalez Byass bodega. Naturally their cellars were lovely and cool and it added a bit of history to the holiday.

Think I've tried the constantino years ago, well, a bottle of it one winters night in the old rotting caravan in the forest. Knissed as pnewts but awoke perfectly fine!
Slipped down to easily!

Did you see the drunk mice? My children always remember it.

No, otherwise I’m sure I would, are we talking actual p****d up mice?
Rather embarrassingly though there was an older English chap on the same tour that kept reeling off the names of various well known sherries from other makers and asking if they made them there, only to be very patiently told by a lovely young Spanish lady that as this was Gonzalez Byass, no they didn’t.

Returned from offshore this afternoon, wife cooked me a delicious dinner, dog was over the moon to see his dad, and I found this lurking at the back of the dresser.
Life doesn’t get any better. 😃
