I've just learned the above is to amalgamate with 'Shooting Times' as a weekly publication. Was not a viable proposition to continue in the current format apparently !

Yes just opened my latest Sporting Rifle and read the letter re being amalgamated in to the shooting times. I subscribe to both and will be interested to see how that would change the ST, interestedly no mention of anything in the latest ST I read

Have up on SR a number of years ago. Very samey articles and the same for the adverts. Ok for a once in a blue moon purchase but that's all. I only buy ST if there's something interesting on the cover.

same here but in reverse i get the sporting rifle if there’s something interesting on the front page every now and then - shooting times gave up on that advertising platform years ago.

I used to subscribe to shooting times take sub out at a game fair (remember those) at a reduced rate and get a bottle of scotch :)

Stopped buying shooting times years ago full of adverts and not worth to money. At the time I counted how many adverts pages to articles and was disgusted.

My daughter has sent mea a couple of shooting times magazines. What pathetic things they are.

Agree with above comments.

I recently bought 2 shooting magazines. What was clear that they do not give much value to the sport (IMO). When we were looking at thermal spotters a few years ago the only reviewed one from big advertisers/distributors . How some of these products are been peddled by these distributors (PARD, IRAY for example) they are being reviewed by them.

Gave up on Sporting Rifle ages ago as well, but funnily enough started to take Shooting Times instead which I find quite good at times. OK it gets a bit samey, but all the various motorbike, fishing and walking magazines that I've taken do that over the years. Tend to flick through magazines and only take them if there's something good in them.
