But as long as there are quality, accurately stamped out pellets for the .20 then yes, faster than the traditional .22 with potentially somewhat higher penetration and yet harder hitting than the faster .177 (and sometimes even greater penetration than the smaller diameter round too due to the higher mass contribution whilst the velocity is up and good)! The latter point is definitely debatable, but it DOES work that way at close ranges.
In my experience though quality, ACCURATELY made pellets good for game/pest shooting at range are not that plentiful. The .25 "slugger" can also suffer a bit there too imho... though here close range is the name of the game unless high energy FAC rifles are employed. For close in rat whacking the .25 - even from a quality (just) sub legal 12ft.lb. - can be a revelation in their kill potential. ... Phut!... SMACK!! quite audible...
