Squirrel Damage To Shed Antlers

As above and apart from the obvious does anyone know if there is a deterrent to squirrels gnawing my antlers?

To repair I am considering inserting 1/4" dia stainless steel rods into the damaged parts and filling them with 2-part epoxy wood filler.

Shooting or Fenn trap is the only thing that stopped them 😆

Had the same thing - tried everything from Jays fluid to WD40 - just washed off with the rain.

Couldn’t be a better reason to go stalking to get another, best plea bargain you could have with SWMBO

My youngest was properly annoyed when the fallow skull he carried all the way home from our last shooting trip was mounted on his shed and then a squirrel proceeded to chew the antlers up🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

He tried to use this as an excuse to hang it in his bedroom but the wife was having none one it!

This is the same stuff used on Nintendo switches game cartridges to stop accidental swallowing from young children, It is incredibly bitter (From experience! tasted ****ing revolting!) while It is toxic in large amounts from what I can tell (overall) In small misting's Its not going to cause any animal major harm just in case a dog got too the antlers and chewed them.

The actual chemical Denatonium Benzoate If you can find it on amazon instead.
