Stalk & Result

Hi Jackfish,

Yes it was a great afternoon and early evening with bright sun, but by jove it became bitterly cold as the afternoon wore on. Anyway, I was out stalking with a chum from the borders on an estate I stalk near Alford and we had a fox and two nice bucks and will be out tomorrow evening on another part of the estate. Well done on your buck.

That's great looking hunting country and a lovely buck, well done. Forgive me for asking but is the fence for stock or is it to fence in the deer?
Cheers,
Hayden

Hayden, it's a Deer fence. I believe it's to keep the Deer out not in. Stops the hill Reds coming down into the forest and causing havoc with the new plantations!

Donsider, it did turn cold after tea time here also, but I was done and dusted home by 18:30.

This one was taken in the wood Verminator69, all the open hill is fenced off, I was sat watching a few hinds feeding along the fence though!

Cheers John, it is a bonnie bit o ground, all 4500 acres of it! Quite intimidating to start with but as a good friend says you can only stalk 1 bit at a time!

The buck is OK I suppose, but what caught my eye was the superb job of scope mounting 'someone' has done on that rifle.... ;)

Seriously - well done.

I went out Friday evening also and there was a slight improvement in the weather being somewhat warmer and we saw quite a few deer and managed to get these two plus a fox
