Biggest problem I’ve noticed with a lot of trousers is that the back isn’t high enough, I don’t want to have to garrotte my bits so they actually do up around my waist.
The Percussion Tradition trousers are made with resistant and water repellent polycotton and they feature multiple pockets, an elasticated waistband and zipped ankles as well.

Not waterproof but quiet and breathable. Polycotton so can be proofed.
Good thread, some suggestions I hadn’t considered before so will take a look (6’4” with long legs so never straight forward buying trousers).
The outdoor trousers I’ve used for the past 8 - 10 years are the Hagloffs Rugged Mountain Pant. They are seriously tough, water resistant and have some great features. Not a summer trouser but ok through autumn, winter and spring. They’re not cheap unless you can find a pair on EBay or Vinted but if you get a pair and they fit you well they’ll pay for themselves and last for years.
Fjallraven for me. No others I've tried over the years have lasted for so long in some pretty tough environments. Available in longer lengths. Not waterproof but dry out quickly, The Vida-Pro being my favourites as they are so functional. Strong, practical pockets and even a knife loop handily placed which I find handier than wearing the sheath on a belt. In cold weather I sometimes wear marino leggings as I find insulated trousers way too warm for most occasions except high seat shooting or hide shooting.
