Starlight Arrow NV Demo Footage - Entry level £399.99 unit

Any one looked through the mini wardy vision ?

Unfortunately for me I bought one, it went back for a refund, I would have sent it back untried just for the general build quality
and finish, but figured I should at least try it, 4 decent scopes on 4 rifles later I wished I hadn't bothered.
I did at least get a full refund without any argument, in the end all it cost was time and the return postage, which he said he would refund but never did.

I See Scott county has done it again. Did it with the photon and now with the arrow. Why advertise a launch date that can't be kept. Feb shoot show they said. Then end of Feb, then end of march then next week, which week. to many broken promises. Is this really any way to run a business. Not being rude but the 'its not our fault' and 'next week' soon wears a little thin.
If you haven't got or can't get then don't make promises. There empty.
Rant over.

Why advertise before a launch date, to get all the orders before anyone else, even if you can't honour it, not my fault sir, its his!!!

I appreciate peoples concern over delivery dates on the Arrow, however in reply we have taken deposits from people based on the delivery date being unconfirmed, and have been clear in terms of delivery updates, despite being promised delivery by the manufacturer time and time again these have not come to fruition. We are retailers, not manufacturers, and people ordering were free to place a small deposit to secure one of the first to arrive, its as simple as that. Anyone wishing to cancel understood they were free to do so at any time.

Everyone who has placed a deposit order, was well informed that they are pre-ordering for despatch as soon we receive stock, as we have committed to a forward order, which is not inconsiderable, to ensure that we are the first people to get them, and indeed supply our pre order customers first so that they get the device before anyone else.

As for the Photon, we did take pre order deposits indeed, and as such we committed to huge numbers from the supplier to ensure we had stock. Indeed there were some delays but we have supplied a huge amount of them, and have a warehouse full of them currently changing in number each day, while many dealers are yet to receive any.

Dear shooters,

We are just finishing the first batch of Arrows for Scott Country, we are 90% certain of shipping this week, even if its not, we will be in on overtime to complete them.

None of this is Scott Country's fault but ours, soon we will have 1000's of Arrow parts in stock, we have 100's of parts at present, there was a time delay as we made an assembly schematic for construction.

As a firm in general Scott Country have always been people of their word and are old school where the customer comes first.

Best regards,

Julian Marsh--Starlight Night Vision.

Hi Arrow customers,

A quick update.

We have a small delay again, all Easter I dragged all my staff in to assemble the first 100 Arrows, they are all lined up in assembly, things were going well until we fitted the main power board, we noticed an issue when the Arrows were powered down and then back up again, screen degradation occurred.

This has been caused by a faulty capacitor, the board designer is working on it right now, we have boards in production so this can be rectified, also we are going to use the emergency prototype specialist board manufacturer to make and test a small qty i.e 50 boards in 48 hours, after this production will carry on as normal.

Sorry for the delay it is as vexing to us as to you and I thank you for your patience, we will come to some arrangement with a free upgrade or some product with the 1st 100 people for their patience.

Best regards,

Julian Marsh - Starlight.

PS. The failed component seems to be from a bad batch, they ran perfectly on the pre-production boards, it has now been swapped for one from another manufacturer.

I was going to order but with the hassles on the Photon i refused to. I now have problems with the Photon that can not be fixed because its less than a year old and bought as a present. its a bit like microsoft. left the customers do the Rand R and then screw them over when it dont work because it was rushed to keep up with the competition.

you do know colin that by the time the arrow comes out it will be obsolete and there will be a newer, better product as its moving so fast now. all thanks to the likes on NV forum and their tinkering.

Am i bitter, you bet i am. photon not out a year yet so they know it's still within the warranty yet will do nothing to fix it, all because it was a rush job to get it out the door. lets hope the arrow is better and lasts longer than 4 months and you get a free upgrade and t' shirt

Should had said, its not SC fault really, more the Thomas Jacks but then customers put the pressure on SC to get the product out that they had promised to the customers months before which then put the pressure on Thomas Jacks to put the pressure on the manufactures, bit like whats happening with the arrow.

If you have proof of purchase yes. bought as a present so no proof, no warranty.

If it was bought for you as a present, then there will be a receipt somewhere, just tell SC who bought it and you should be sorted.
On the other hand if no receipt because it was secondhand then probably not covered.

active viii if you would like to ring me, pm or email me with the person who bought it for you, and their address I will send you a copy of the invoice (assuming it was bought from us of course) which you can then submit to us for full warranty.

Then you can return the unit to me personally, with a note of the issue you are experiencing and if it is indeed a warranty repairable/replacement then we would sort it out for you with no charge.

If it was bought elsewhere I will put you in touch with who you need to send it to, and personally get you an RMA returns authorisation.

Best Regards

Paul

Thanks Paul.
As said no Reciept so no proof. spoke to TJ a couple of times and will fix it but only if i pay as there is no proof. they know of the fault. there is a very good reason i cant ask the purchaser for a recipe r will never be able to ask.
Because of this is has stopped an arrow being ordered and i will wait until it all settles down, or until something else comes along. yep, im bitter and twisted. not normally but this one has got me.

The board has been fixed and is working fine, I am told it runs a fully charged set of batteries for 7 hours. We are looking forward to receiving them back.

Thanks,

Julian.

Looks like NO-ONE has received one as yet despite the original claims of delivery months ago, as an engineer within the "comms" sector for many years dealing with navigation, location, communication, and digital camera and video systems, I have long awaited this product to replace the current tubed systems, with one that is more efficient and in tune with current trends within the Telemetry industry. However it appears to have been fraught with issues from the start, and over zealous marketing by the suppliers of a product, that will be tested by the initial buyers, whom will either end up with a faulty unit in and out of repair during the warranty period, or a unit that does not live up to the original fit for purpose sales advertisement. Has this been fully tested for some time, or merely rushed out to the general public for sale. deerwarden

Deerwarden, in answer to your question, "Has this been fully tested for some time, or merely rushed out to the general public for sale. deer warden"

We have had three demo units which have been used by ourselves, competent night vision users/hunters, and key members of the press in hunting circles for a few months now, so has had plenty of testing, and development,
so that Starlight could be sure the kit worked as it should. We have had numerous people play with the Arrow on our demo kit, and put it through its paces in the field.

The only issue here is that production had been delayed over and over.

When we first marketed the product it was down for launch at the British Shooting Show, and we were informed we would have stock for the show. That didn't transpire through no fault of SCI, and although we had fully working models to demo, stock hadn't arrived. Nothing would be sold by either ourselves or Starlight if it is not fit for purpose, thats why the production and further development has caused delays.

At the end of the day we would have had them on the shelves last week, but due to a faulty component being delivered, through no fault of their own, Starlight couldn't supply in time.
