Hello quiteman it may help a little has to what your problem is ,i asked for help on this forum a few months a go and got some very help full feed back ,
it could be the same has mine ,BATTERY PROBLEM, The cap was to long plus it never had a seal to screw down on witch caused moister to get in ,Or it may be some thing else .

I emailed the eBay guy and he said he only does re tubes, at £3000 for a retube I'll pass.

He must have given up the servicing as he did my longbow last year.
he did also offer to do a retube with the all singing all dancing phosphorescent? Tube. I figured for that money I would buy a thermal So stuck with the service. Still using mine.
has anyone ever used one of those super tubes? I seem to remember them coming out about 5 years ago And being touted as the dogs danglies.

Did you have any luck with the chap on ebay? My archer has started switching itself off once you have fired a shot which is pretty annoying!

Archer, allways been a faithful servant until i swapped it from the 222 onto the 22.250 and forgot how much further back the scope is on that rifle. On off switch poked me right between the eyes and after i had stopped cursing I realised it now likes to switch on and off after each shot (probably 1 in 20 at the moment but i can only see it getting worse)

Clean the battery cap thread section with some wire wool. Sometimes its just a connection problem.

You can give them my number no worries. Realistically if the image is spotty, it’s a retube. Retube with a high spec white phosphor tube is just over £3k


I only fit high grade tubes. Fitting blemished or low grade tubes is more hassle than it’s worth, people coming back to complain, not happy with tube etc. If you want higher spec, then an XR5 tube is circa £4k fitted

Have a look at photonis tubes for sale at deep- dark, uk based basic white phosphor tubes, £1092 and upwards, think compatible to longbow, but covers a multitude of sins am told, and devil in the detail as ever.
