Started a little doodle

Looking at the prints from a thread earlier today made me pine to create something. I’ve been away from the architectural drawing board for too long, constant emails etc rather than the draughtmanship I trained for seven years in so I thought I would crack open my pencils after far too many years and just doodle for an hour this evening. See where my memory took me. Wish I had taken pictures along the way but I was just in a happy zone. I’ll update once complete. The composition (and technique) is a bit mad.



Covered in graphite but happily so. Fingers crossed I’ll get another hour this week or next and finish it off.

Gave it another hour this evening, feels as good as I’ll get it. Need to sort a few issues out that I’ve spotted but it was an enjoyable exercise to undertake.

The doe’s head was my starting point but almost the last thing to finish. I wanted to capture the way they melt into the woods, but when you spot them you can’t possibly unsee them.
