Youl be fine Tim ,I was awake for both my operations .Modern anastasia is that good you won't feel a thing.
Deep breaths and think of cold beers on sunny days ( does Wales have sunny days ) .

There seems to be the usual myths surrounding first aid being regurgitated here. Would people be interested in a stop the bleed type course taught by people who actually walk the walk daily? Esp if it was focused on self help?

I was laying on a trolley in A&E with my foot at about 60 degrees from where it should be, with both leg bones and ankle busted. A chap came along and asked if his trainee 'could have a look'.
"Why aren't you writhing in agony? Ah! Farmer! Farmers don;t feel pain".
Despite the rumours, I did not drive myself to A&E!

I'm going to properly play on the "it's cold in here" defence. I'll no doubt be given a summer appointment, but go in shivering, constantly complaining it's cold, jumper on etc ...

Operation was tricky and took longer than expected.
Was a slightly surreal experience, to be honest.
I'll share the story when I'm feeling a bit brighter. Perhaps you chaps will believe me. My family don't.
