Hi,
I was just wondering in which calibers were these made. I came across mostly 30-06 and 270 win, also a few 7×64, a single 9,3×62 and quite a few 6,5×57 and 6,5×55 the latter seem to be a limited special run. Unfortunately I never saw a left hand 7×57 or a Model L 308 win. Did anyone came across any other caliber in full left hand configuration?
I have a Frankonia catalogue from 1995 and it lists only 30-06 and 7×64 in left hand and nothing else.
I would love to have a left handed 7×57 but so far only saw Heym SR 20 in this cal and no Steyrs. I do have a left handed Heym SR 20 6,5×55 but I also had a Steyr Luxus 6,5×57 with left handed stock and I liked the Steyr better. I loved the single set trigger and the overall feel of the rifle in hand. Unfortunately no Luxus models were ever made in true left hand configuration as far as I know. It is obviously the better rifle than standard as it features a metal magazine and floor plate and also a slimmer stock design.
Below is a pic from my Frankonia catalogue.
