Hi all,

Time time to sell my Steyr Scout in 308.

Comes with an ASE mod, x2 factory 5 round mags, x3 correct metal scout sling swivels (unobtanium new), original case and Steyr factory MOA test). Scope, mounts and sling not included. i'm the second owner.

Its a compact and point able rifle ideal for high seat work or stalking through forestry and fields. The integrated bipod gives you extra stability for a shot however I find it is more useful keeping the rifle out of the mud when 2 hands are needed. The ASE mod keeps the weight down and point ability up whilst doing a great job of keeping things quiet.

Selling as its not getting any use anymore. Happy to do an RFD transfer at your cost.

Good afternoon.
I have a Steyr Scout in .308 that I am just starting to working up. May I ask what hunting round gave you the tighest group?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Regards.

For hunting factory ammo 150 gr sako hammerheads gave me the best results. There could be better options but for what is commonly available locally to me these were great.

Bumping this with a pic of mine from Saturday morning.
One of the all time great rifle designs IMO, and far ahead of its time in many ways.

BOTL's pics of his rifle remind me I should really get a smaller moderator!

my scout rifle had a fluted barrel but i had it a long while ago now have they changed?

Morning. Any idea of round count on this, please?
I cant have put more than 200 through it, but it is second hand so not sure what its done in its lifetime. Barrel and internals are clean and the main thing it still holds its accuracy. The main thing with these fluted batrels is not to fire large strings of shots and give it.a chance to cool, its quite a light weight barrel profile.
