Well done Smellydog for raising awareness on this subject. I wonder if my organisation (NGO) will do anything about it, or just ignore it, like they did us when they instigated the "voluntary" ban in the first place.

they didnt, but do you think a commercial shoot of how ever many thousands of birds give any thought to the environment? or do they want to not be seen as a problem?
That's the problem, the whole thing has got way too political with powerful influencial organisations and individuals determined to force through restrictions on our activities to suit their own ends. Commonsense, proportionality and an overview of the full impacts of any such restrictions don't appear to have been taken into consideration at all.
