Lapua naturalisAny favourites for monolithic copper in 308?
I'm a newbie to reloading and have just done my DCS1 and Boar certificates.
I’ve just reloaded 150 grain Fox in .308. Very accurate but not yet tested on deer. I prefer heavy and slower than light and faster. Always seems less meat damage.Am I the only one on here who would shoot a 150gn bullet?
All the posts bar mine are all light, the bread and butter weight for the 308 is 150gn lead or copper, lighter bullets usually means faster bullets which equals damage in my non educated opinion![]()
C50 in daylight ……Sounds perfectI load 130gr and 150gr TTSX.
I prefer the 150gr - I don’t think the extra velocity is needed under 300 yards.
Am I the only one on here who would shoot a 150gn bullet?

In the grand scheme of things, 150gr and 130gr will be equal velocity at about 300m (apples to apples). That is also somewhat the max distance that expanding monometals work acceptably (talking about mainstream, I'm aware of Brit boutique manufacturers and others before them). Up to that point 150gr is fast enough but slower than 130gr, so theoretically less damage (apples to apples).Am I the only one on here who would shoot a 150gn bullet?
I use the 145gr 308 as I use the same load for pigs. Love themAm I the only one on here who would shoot a 150gn bullet?
