"Super" diesel

"super" diesel, pulled in at Morrisons and saw this for sale? Anybody know what it contains? Is it any good? And muck more importantly, does it merit the 5p/ litre price difference??

Been running my 2016 Skoda Superb 2.0 Tdi estate on it from new, and never had any DPF issues.......currently getting 63mpg on motorway runs.
I think it's worth the extra....

It’s 20p more expensive than regular round my way, but fill up a tank every 6 or so visits.

After a few miles, my Ranger seems to idle even smoother - all about the additives I believe.

Just on the DPF, a LR mechanic once told me 5mins at over 2k rpm occasionally is all you need to keep it clean- harder than you think with an 8 speed box!

Regular diesel tends to be ‘sold out’ frequently around here, usually in stations run by Indians, not sure why? But what’s interesting is the performance of the super they do sell, is the same as the regular, and the £ ticker starts as soon as you squeeze the trigger, but it takes 5-7 seconds for the diesel to start flowing.

Suss…

A decent trip to stalking grounds is the best thing as they get "hot", pottering around town/short trips is the way to a DPF issue.

I concur we are being ripped off and it’s going unchallenged and what you see is not always what you get.

I use Shell V-Power for years now. That is probably same thing. You get much more responsive engine, much cleaner combustion and higher mpg. If it is only 5p difference well worth it. Shell is much more then 5p difference. I have been telling this to my cousin taxi driver for years. He was sceptical about it first but swears by it now.

I'm getting 31 mpg out of my 22 2.8 manual so I might try a couple of tanks and see what happens, the damn DPF is cutting in seemingly constantly so I'll see what happens?

Back in the day when there was a local Bio-Diesel supplier which gives super low emission's, also when they went mad on the emissions for the mot many people would put in a few gallons in the tank and the wagon passed with flying colours, I was dipped twice at garage once I had called in to use their shop second time to fill up, both times the FAT bird running the team was disappointed as I had bio in the tank

You can increase Cetanes with the diesel treatments on shelf.

I’ve used a profict called dipethetane for the last six months as an additive

Tenner bottle does 200 litres which is a months worth of fuel for me

Certainly increases mpg and aids lubrication of the fuel system (apparantly)

Cheaper than v power
