Suzuki Vitara Rear door gas strut Help needed

I have a 1996 GV (2LTR 24V) and the rear door gas strut has failed and i am trying to find an after market replacement. Suzuki want £65 for a new one!!

I have looked at the serial no on mine 4KA08 S407 but it does not tally with anything.If anybody has a similar GV please could they look at theirs and give me a serial no or suggest a replacement

Mine fits on top of the door (Jimmy and later GV its on the bottom) and it is bolt on at both ends.

Mine is 14" center to center when compressed.

I have found one on e bay Monroe ML 5493 but I think its a bit short, Monroe do another which is longer but I can't source the number.

I would appreciate any help.

I have spoken to SGS and they dont make one for mine, its the issue with the end fixings which on mine are holes as it bolts on.

I have a vitara diesel and it had a fault on one of the exhaust gas temp sensors (outlet) and Suzuki wanted £250 I got it in the end for £104 as its the same as a pug one? now my mate needs the other one and can't find if there is another like the pug one.
