Swapping stocks Howa 1500

Evening all,

I have 2 Howa 1500’s (.223 & .243) I’d like to take the XRS stock from the .243 and put it onto the .223

Is this a simple swap or am I going to have to buy bottom metals & potentially new mags.

I believe the .243 is an AICS mag ( metal mag & no markings on mag) and the .223 has polymer legacy mags

Forgot to say I’d like to put the .243 into a lightweight stock like a GRS beserck stock

The .223 is currently in a MDT Oryx chassis

Trying to keep costs low so if I’ve got to swop / buy bottom metals and mags etc it may be a no go

If anyone has any knowledge / advice on this it would be appreciated

I went the other way (hence having the Berserk for sale) so only needed to buy a suitable AICS mag for 223.

You would need a new bottom metal for the 243 Berserk to use the AICS mags you have or buy a new plastic and bottom system such as the legacy (which isn't very good) or find a secondhand floor plate system (which are pretty good for the Howa) or if you find a secondhand Berserk stock cheap enough that comes with all the bits you want which ordinarily aren't included in the new price from a shop.
