Swaro EL 10x50 at auction

A heads up: Holts Auctioneers have a near new Swaro 10x50 EL in their next auction, happening on Tuesday 10th Dec. I had a quick look at it with a view to bid but decided that I really don't need it that much! It is estimated at £1000-£1500 (list price new is around £2k) and was new in 2016 so have about 6-7 years of warrantee to run. Don't forget the 30% buyers premium (inc VAT - not recoverable). It comes with box, case, booklet and harness. I think the owner passed away, hence at auction. The serial number is D861744533 (not listed in description as they didn't know where to look!)

P.S. Don't bother with silly bids under the low estimate: their policy is to make the lower estimate the strict reserve so the minimum you are going to pay is £1300 unless it remains unsold after the main sale when they may offer it at a reduced price.

As a postscript, the swaros went for £1300 which means £1690 including buyers premium. Bit silly in my opinion since one can buy a brand new pair for under £2000. But that's auctions for you!

Thanks for posting. That’s interesting. I’ve noticed items on Holt’s seem to go for silly money.

Me too. I think that's what they call "auction fever". Bid low. If you get it: a bonus, if not: no great loss.
