Swarovski reticle change

Hi there I have a Swarovski 6-24x50 and find it great but it has a very fine reticle I believe it’s the cross hair one . When approaching last light or using high magnification I struggle to see reticle . Does any one know if it’s possible to change reticle ? Does Swarovski take on this kind of work ? Ideally I would like to change for tds4. Does anyone else have one of these scopes and recommend a certain reticle ?
Thanks

Yes they do change reticle as I enquired some time ago it wasn’t worth the cost involved you could always email them for a quote.

Purchase another scope unless you are sentimentally attached to the Swarovski. I'm struggling to exchange my S6-24X50 for the 'baby' illuminated Zeiss Diavari I purchased for such an installation so don't feel bad about it!

Don’t quite get the struggling to see reticle at high magnifications. If its a first focal plane then the reticle gets finer at lower power, if 2nd focal plane then it stays the same and target bigger and smaller.

It is perfectly possible to swap reticle as part of a service. I enquired about 4 years ago and it was a few hundred quid.

In terms of lowlight, use the thicker parts of the reticle. Stick a thick one in the the bum, the other in the throat and the verticle one on its leg and squeeze - the bullet will hit the kill zone. This is the way an awful lot of animals were taken in days before red dots and thermal imaging and other electronic devices were legalised.

However your 6-24 x 50 is probably more of a target / vermin type scope rather than a last light hunting scope. You might be better trading it against something that has a better reticle. Or keep it and buy a S&B 6x42 or 8x56 and use that for a hunting rifle used at last light. It will cost less than having a new reticle

Have to agree with this I changed my Z6 4A for the very reason mentioned.
If you can find a Swarovski 4-12 x 50 Habicht AV with the 4A reticle it’s reticle is second focal plane and is a perfect low light stalking scope

I have that very scope. But truth be told I think the S&B 6x42 is probably a brighter and sharper image especially at low light. With the 4-12x50 I pretty much leave it 6x. Hardly ever turn up the zoom in the field. It possibly saves a bit of walking on the range as at 12x you can better see the bullet holes.

I had this done on my 6-24x50 some years back, well before Brexit. Don’t recall what they charged me though I’m afraid but it was only cost effective as I’d picked the scope up for peanuts due to crimp marks in the tube (which got replaced at the same time).

As already been said, unless there is a sentimental attachment to the scope it’s not really a cost effective way of resolving your issue. I also think that you’ll struggle with a tds reticle if you’re struggling with the duplex.

You’d be better off, in my opinion as a user of both scopes, finding a Zeiss Diavari 6-24x56 with a #60 reticle & swapping the scopes over. (Or if you really don’t need the full 24x they are available in 3-12 & 4-16 variants too.) You can then sell the Swarovski & likely the offset between the two will be less than the reticle swap.

I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t fit a TDS4 reticule as they no longer have a licensing agreement. Shame as in FFP it works very well.
