Swarovski Rife Scope Refurbish

I have Swarovski Rifle Scope that's been with me and my rife for more years than I would admit, it still remains accurate and does everything I need of a rifle scope. My question is, would it be worth sending back to Swarovski to be re-coated in black just to look good again ?

They'd probably re-tube it. I doubt they'd re-coat it. That's what they did with my 6x42.

Well it was a while back but they did it for free actually as I didn't feel that the quality was good enough. I had a pair of 7x42 SLCs that were in a car fire and got badly damaged. I sent those back and they rebuilt them and re-cased the lenses etc and that cost £164 inc postage. Every other repair or service that I've had done on my Swaro stuff has been completely free of charge. Which is why both my binos, spotting scope, range finder and some of my rifle scopes are Swaro optic. Contact them and I'm sure they'll give you a free quotation

Yep, I’ve had that done twice. Definitely possible. Circa £200 -250 if I recall correctly

Defiantly worth asking them the question.
I recently email to ask if I could still buy a rubber eye cup for an old s/h 6 x42, a few days later one turned up in the post FOC.
Fabulous.
Apparently it was a good will gesture, as the scope was over 30 years old and thus outside its guarantee period of 30 years.

Send them some photos and the ser number.

Swarovski certainly used to reblue/black scope tubes, but sometime back. They may do them again now - let us know your outcome.
When I got around to asking (6x42 Habicht, steel, still in 40yr warranty!) they had discontinued tube refurbishments, perhaps with a newer scope.....

Yep. Definitely. I’ve had good experiences with Swarovski aftercare. The always seem very receptive to whatever I’ve asked. And as per the OP I don’t see why they wouldn’t re black a scope- and I would also imagine that with their good service they would probably also advise if it was beyond economic repair.

They have just re tubed a z6i for me £550 . Also I don’t rate there customer service sent back a set of scope covers didn’t come back any better.they are good at giving you eye ups etc.but there repairs are getting expensive

If it’s a Nova ie gloss blued steel it’s easy enough to do yourself. Disassemble according to the instructions (if you still have the paperwork in the box) in a dry room. Use an inner tube to get the objective lense unscrewed.
Get the tube re-blued taking extra care not to get blasting media in the threads. Reassemble again in a dry room
If you are concerned about nitrogen purging etc don’t be - there isn’t a molecule left in a 30 year old scope.
I did mine like this in 2006 and it’s not missed a beat since
