Swarovski service

I have a pair of 8.5 x 42 EL‘s which are about 15 years old now and looking quite tired. Optically fine but in need of a general spruce up. Could anyone tell me how much it is to get them serviced / refreshed by Swarovski, and what the turnaround times are typically?

No idea on costs, they will inspect and let you know...I have just sent my Z4i to them for inspection service/repair after they sent this form email last week when I enquired...their bold text.

Alan

thank you for your message.
We are sorry for the inconveniences.
It is difficult to make a remote diagnosis.
The unit must be examined by our technicians and the deviations have to be checked and tested.
A worldwide warranty for defects in material and/or workmanship is guaranteed for 10 years from the date of fabrication on presentation of a valid invoice or guarantee certificate.

Please proceed as follows:
Send your binoculars to our UK branch using the enclosed completed repair form. The address can be found on the form. Please leave the field "SF case number" blank - it will be filled in by our repair service team.
We kindly ask you to send in your device without accessories (e.g. bag, protective cover etc.).
As soon as the device arrives at our premises in Austria, it will be checked and repaired.
If there are any costs involved, you will receive a cost estimate and then have the opportunity to decide on a repair.
By means of the serial number we can determine the year of production.
The current repair time is about 15 working days (excluding shipping).
In total you have to expect about 5-6 weeks.

Sent my EL 's back to Swarovski via the UK Agent and they were returned in about 4 weeks repaired free of charge. However DHL have sent me an invoice for Import Duty &VAT . Obviously I am contesting this, since they were bought in the UK more than ten years ago.
BREXIT?

Apologies for slight hijack/drift, but I have a Kahles scope in need of repair and am struggling to find out how to get it to them post Brexit. Since Swarovski now own Kahles would they share the same UK agent? If so I’d really appreciate their contact details, via pm if preferred.

Swarovski repair warranty is legendary. Just been informed by DHL that there is a charge of £45 to have the vat invoice cancelled on my repaired 2007 EL's, if I can find the original invoice or other documentation confirming their temporary export for repair.

Surely Swarovski UK are responsible for the handling. They have should them to Austria as a consignment of goods for repair, and then Austria sent back to UK agent to then send to you.

The couriers are just milking things all the time. £45 fee for cancelling an incorrect invoice they raised is fraud.

I sent my old 8x42 EL Range bino's to Swarovski for service as the centre focussing wheel had become sloppy and generally they were very 'tired', they came back fully refurbished with the armour on one side completely replaced and everything working smoothly as new. No charge. I was amazed at this service and would have been happy to pay 100 quid to be honest.
