Swarovski SR rail or ring mount (M12 Impact)

Hi all,

Looking for some of your expert advice please!

I am awaiting delivery of a Mauser M12 Impact in 6.5x55 and currently looking at scope and mounts. I have decided on a Swarovski Z6i or Z8i scope, the question is whether I go for the Swarovski SR rail or a ring mounted Swarovski scope set up.

The Impact model comes with a piccatiny rail included, based on the write ups, I would prefer to get an SR mounted scope, but I am concerned that by mounting a Recknagel tip off mount on top of the Piccatiny rail, then onto the scope may end up with the scope being mounted too high. Therefore maybe I am better to simply go with ring mounts?

Any thoughts / experiences would be gladly received,

Many thanks

I had one - bought the mauser quick detach mounts which in my opinion were horrendous in quality. I ended up putting the picitinny rail on with reckangel mounts.

Thanks for the feedback, were you mounting to an SR rail or ring mounts? If a rail did you find the height ok, once you had the piccatiny rail, SR mount and scope?

thanks

I’ve got a Mauser M03 with a Swarovski SR rail scope with no issues

as for a M12 allan Rhone can supply SR mounts for onto picatinny
