Swarovski X5i

I’ve had the smaller x5i and a 2.5-15x56 z6i

Both incredible glass, reticle choice is not as nice for hunting purposes with the x5i but I do like a simple ret.

The whole crosshair was also illuminated on the x5i but the z6i is just the centre dot.

The z6i was better in low light but that may be because it had a larger objective.

I had an X5i 5-25x56 and sold it. It’s a range scope not a stalking scope in my mind. Maybe if you do a lot of open hill work but too heavy and light transmission not great for woodland / last light.

Very fussy eye relief as well.

I still have a Z6i!!

Thanks for the replies, chaps.
I’d wondered whether they used the same glass and coatings across their top of the range scopes, but it makes sense to optimise the more hunting oriented scopes for low light capability, though I imagine a lot of folk would want to use the X5 for both range and hunting, possibly in low light.
Cheers
