A couple of months late to the party so hopefully my response is relevantI've seen a brand called "Custom Fit Guards" also get a fair bit of recommendation (thing Jonny at TGS is sponsored by them - and has a 10% discount code?)
I only have a pair of normal custom moulds (not electronics) that I got from a local hearing care professional. Think the brand she worked with is called Minerva, and I believe the same brand that you can get done at specsavers! Memory seems to tell me that those came out around about £300ish for electronic ones as well.
I can personally vouch for the Custom Fit Guards (CFG)
I'd struggled to find decent ear protection that suited me for years. I'd tried standard ex military ear defenders, electronic ear defenders, foam in-ear plugs & plastic in-ear plugs. They all had pros and cons but nothing was ever spot on, generally either uncomfortable or made conversation/environmental awareness a nightmare.
I also ride a motorbike and had experienced the same issues with finding ear protection for that too.
I decided to bite the bullet and try custom fit ear protection. I came across CFG and decided to give them a go. I'm glad I did as I've now been using them a couple of years and wouldn't go back to anything else. They have interchangeable filters so I can easily switch between motorbike filter & shooting filter. The shooting filter allows me to continue having a conversation while clay pigeon shooting and talk fairly quietly while stalking. All in all I'm very happy with them and they didn't cost the earth (~£120 if memory serves).
I hope that helps?
