Swiss Army knife

I never understand this flap people get themselves in re EDC in the UK; just carry what you need & therefore can justify. If you’re going into a shop or a major conurbation, leave the knife in the car.

I won’t use a folding blade without a lock because I value my fingers (and a foolish youth spent pushing a SAK way beyond its sensible limits).

Victorinox make a fixed blade knife nowadays called the New Venture.

Swiss knife producers Swiza produce locking folding SAKs.
(So does Victorinox, to be fair)

A trip to Meiringen and around the Victorinox factory is quite interesting, and recommended, for the interested.

Most of us dont.

The same few always bring it up even though the rest of us are already well aware of the laws. In very much the same way as people start chirping on about the GL when someone mentions they shot a Magpie.

Wrong copper , wrong day missing a target and bingo they are less co-operative and it only takes the CPS to be behind on knife crime targets themselves and your in court or accepting a caution .
Its simply not like it was ! Its my trade so I am very difficult person to prosecute for carrying my product . In the Car is still in public , good reason is ultimately for you to prove to a jury . I really only carry EDC proper unless i have a clear " good reason " at that moment in time .
I know one maker who actually phones the police and gets a reference number before he moves stock for posting etc ( admittedly he has been a very bad Lad previously ) .
Even if you get a caution it counts as a conviction when you renew your FAC , seek good legal advice if your ever offered one

Should I phone the police before I do something completely legal too, like doing my shopping or going to the library.....ffs.

If you have a good reason you have a good reason.

and never accept a caution!!!!

Here's my Victorinox Hunter Pro Alox.

Victorinox Pro Hunter Alox.webp

A bit on the heavy side and too big for EDC use. But it's easy to clean, other than if there are multiple tools.

I use the black plastic version of this for gralloching and skinning. Gets very sharp and as it doesn't have lots of funny bits for stuff to get trapped in - and it locks - it's been very good.
