Tale of two trips...

I had to re check the scope as I replaced a broken rail screw which I unpicked from the action then refitted the rail with some I had in stock, as I was just leaving to a local field the phone was screeching away in the truck cab from the owner of this recent new farm, at our first meeting he asked what I did "fix stuff farms break lol"
I will come over right now have a look then check the rifle at yours, I had a planned trip over there that late afternoon but work pays the bills!
Found a line of pigeons drifting into a low patch of rape while mincing around setting up the target so that ticked a box to go!
Came home made the new part to be welded on when they have it stripped out and ready
Back again with some intel from the lad who works on the farm but the wind was wrong to get in that spot easy so it would be the long walk as the light drifted away, I went to their other block but not seen any deer at all despite slots saying the have been through!

The long walk it was! Lots of rabbits with a muntjac disappearing into the ditch so I went back to the other side of the ditch "nothing" ok go back and carry on,
now the muntjac has turned into a Fallow buck up wind looking my way around 140 yds...! The last 2 hole zero shots where history as the clock is ticking, over he went with a new round chambered watching the thrashing of a wonky set of antlers in the scope! walking up the track a fox had come out of cover but stopped for a second then run into the wheat (big mistake) that chambered round found the mark so better put one more in Tim!
Where is the Fallow:eek: hidden in a low bit in the stinging nettles and rabbit warren I had walked past as the fox was on my left and lost the line I was taking after shooting the fox! "Stupid boy Pike lol"
I called the farmer who had said from day one call me if you need a hand, I just need the gate unlocked please which he did saying I will get some keys cut as he was dozing in front of the TV when I rang🤣

Hot dressed weight of 50kg so the game dealer ticket will tell all on Monday! Wonkey antlers for the dog chew pile.
